Likes: Music, mostly punk or pop but will listen to anything with a good beat to it; Dancing, Roberta loves to move to a good beat and believes everything negative that happens to her can be solved with a good boogie; Robert’s biggest like is singing, which she gets from her mother, though she prefers just to sing alone but if it is called for she will sing in public if necessary – she isn’t afraid of the stage, she is a natural born performer.
Dislikes: Even though Roberta is from a rich background she can’t stand rich people, well the rich people that forget about being human, the ones who only think about money or use it to get them out of trouble or bribing people to keep their mouths shut; Roberta also isn’t good at following orders if she doesn’t agree with them so she isn’t a teachers favourite student; Being ignored is a pet peeve of hers, even when she “wants to be alone” Roberta would rather someone stay with her so she can talk out her frustrations; Her mother’s fame is something she truly despises, she is thankful for everything her mother has dome for her and has given her over the years but Roberta doesn’t like it when her mother uses her fame to get into places or if people only recognise her as “Alma Rey’s” daughter and not Roberta herself.
Roberta is a strong willed woman who likes to do what she wants to do not what others want her to do which is why she isn’t popular with some students and teachers, although the friends she has do have the same kind of personality. Roberta doesn’t believe in the rule that only rich people can be with rich people and not so rich with the not so rich so she genuinely tends to hold protests against this; despite all this Roberta is still well involved in school and is on the dance committee so she gives idea’s on upcoming events and has even been invited on the school council in which she is contemplating. Roberta is a “free spirit” and outgoing she does what she wants to do despite the consequences, which she faces head on, and she is always speaking up for students that don’t for themselves.
History:Roberta is the daughter of famous Latin American singer and actress Alma Rey. Roberta was conceived while Alma was just making it “big” and although the father disappeared as soon as he found out Alma was with-child Alma has always done everything to ensure Roberta’s happiness. Being a child on the road with a famous mother was fun at the start, Roberta was always being given gifts from celebrities that her mother knew, if not getting them from Alma, but after a few years it had started to get boring.
Roberta was in and out of different schools around the world, though when she wasn’t at school she had a tutor who came on the road with her and Alma, but every school she went to felt the same, she always got special treatment because she is the daughter of a music and film star and always got what she asked for. Roberta was never in the same school for longer than six months until her mother forced her to go to china with her just so Alma could make it big everywhere. Roberta was very reluctant at first, her main excuse being she couldn’t speak Chinese – but that was what her tutor was for and he taught her Chinese and everything she’d need to know in order to fit in it was hard considering her first language is Latin – what she wasnt expecting was to go to a private school that she had to stay in. Her mother explained to her that it was easier for Roberta to stay at the school that travel all around China with her and that Munkun Academy was the best in China so she would have a five star education.
Roberta was not amused when she first started and she tried anything and everything to get kicked out but nothing worked, she didn’t make many friends the first few months except for her roommates but as nobody except the occasional ‘Rich Kid’ knew who Alma Rey was so it became easier for Roberta to be herself and not what people expected her to be.
By the end of the first year Roberta had many friends and was the happiest she’d ever been, despite having a few enemies that don’t like “foreigners” or some that are jealous of sharing the spotlight with her but Roberta never let these walk all over her and she constantly stuck up for herself. Every now and again Roberta would get a little too carried away with sticking up for her friends and herself to which her mother would be called in from wherever she was but having a gorgeous mother and Roberta having an innocent smile she generally got away with just a warning.
It wasn’t until Roberta and a few friends starred in the talent show that people saw how talented she was and this helped her land herself a spot on the dance committee and occasionally she would get asked to joing the school council and she constantly rejected though she now knows that she could have a lot of influence if she were on the council so she has started to contemplate joining next time they offer.
Roberta is still known to rebel against the school at times, nothing major though she has been known to mix up her uniforms: during winter Roberta put on the white uniform and in the summer she put on the black and once she even mixed them both up so she still gets into some trouble but nothing ever major unless it was called for.
