Carefully closing the door behind her, Magali put a small smile on her face. She creept away from the door and then as soon as she was out of earshot she began to run in the hallways. She found the stairs and carefully ran down them. Magali then soon found the doorway outside and cracked open the door. She put her head through and made sure no one was around to catch her. Finally deciding that it was safe, Magali went through and felt the cool air hit her face. She closed the larger door and then ran down the paths of the campus and felt free.
The breeze was soft. The sound of the trees rustling and night sky, with all it's stars and full moon made everything light up with a soft glow. Magali found an open field and took off her shoes. She let the grass settle between her toes. She looked to the ground and smiled then she looked up to the sky and closed her eyes. She was free from her dorm room, she felt like she was suffocating in there. She wasn't used to China yet. Magali wanted to go home, she missed her mother too much. The palace, her grandparents and the land of France itself. Simply put Magali was homesick.
Magali decided to lay down. She pulled on her outfit to make sure it was secure in place. Magali didn't want to leave her dorm room dressed in her pj's so she changed silently while Tristan slept in the conjoining room to her own dorm. Luckily the Headmaster gave her a room that had that for Tristan. It seemed her mother did a lot of work to get her here. Magali needed a moment to get away from her room, Tristan and the dorm. She wasn't settling well into China, her first night and day here and she wanted to go home. Magali looked up to the stars and moon and felt one single tear run on her cheek. She then said to the wind, “Mama... I want go home. I miss France and you. Why did you send me here?” Little did she know she was about to meet another person that might change her school life drastically.
