Sing Along Songs (Luna)

Topaz walked with Luna back to his dorm room. Getting to the door he put his hand inside of his pocket to open the door to his room. Finding it in a moment he placed the key in the lock and opened up the door, "Excuse the mess..." Topaz said with a little smirk. It was reasonably tidy, for a teenager's boys room. However there were a few things here and there.

As he opened the door for her to go inside he stepped inside behind her and shut the door. Topaz strode over to his bed and grabbed his guitar that he left lying on top of it. Moving it over to the stand in the corner of the room. His case also hung beside it. Stepping back away from his guitar he went back to his bed as he was working on songs. Grabbing his folder he began to sort them back out again in paper wallets.

There were quite a few out of place and by the time he got them all back inside realising he was missing one as there was a spare plastic wallet. He knew which song it was as soon as he realised it was missing. The one he started to write a few days after the day in the rain. It was finished, but hadnt even looked at it since this entire thing had started. He had just left it where it was. Strangely he didnt mind if Luna saw it. It was just lucky he hadnt torn in up in anger. However it was a good song, Topaz was never overly confident in his work but he did like this song. It was over the by the keyboard he had been using the write it with. Closing his folder he placed it back on the shelf and then sat back on his bed.

Luna slowly but surely got out of bed with the help of Topaz. She felt a little dizzy as thought she might fall over and he offered to carry her if she couldn't walk, but she didn't want him to carry her around. She hated feeling vulnerable so she was really going to force herself to get a hold of herself and stabilize so she could walk on her won. Looking to Topaz she could see the worried look in his eyes, but he didn't say a word he just watched as she slowly took a few steps forward and toward the door and then they were out the door and into the main room of the infirmary. From there they walked slowly toward the exiting doors. Luna kept her hand in close near to Topaz just in case she some how lost her balance and needed to grip onto him to catch herself from toppling over. She knew being sick easily made her body feel week enough to the point where she couldn't even hold herself up. They finally made it out of the infirmary doors and into the school hallways again. There were students walking around, it seemed to be passing period so the halls were getting crowded. Luna remained close to Topaz making sure she didn't get caught up in the rush of the moving crowd. She grabbed onto his hand until they were clear of the students and headed out toward the dormitory sector.

They slowly made their way toward Topaz room. Of course girls weren't allowed in the guys dormitory sector for any reason unless on some odd occasion that the school gave permission, aside from family members of course. But in any case it was so easy for the teens to often sneak into the other dormitories without being noticed, well at night it was much more harder since there was campus guards always walking around keeping an eye out for things, but still the same some of the teens were good at getting away with such. Luna kept close to Topaz, she was no longer holding his hand. She waited as he unlocked his room door and slowly opened it so she could go inside, she heard him mention to excuse the small clutter, she didn't really notice it that much since if she was going to be weary of it she would expect it to be piled over with so much junk that there was no room to walk, that was the usual thing to expect from a boy's room. But Topaz's room was perfectly fine, he shared this room with Lixu but since Lixu was out of town for a while, he had this room to himself. Luna smiled slowly taking steps inside so Topaz could follow her in and close the door behind them. She looked around staring at some of the few posters and such that was hung up. Along with the guitar and keyboard that happened to be in the room.

She slowly walked toward the keyboard as Topaz went over to his own bed begining to straighten out things before sitting down. She noticed there was a paper lying across the keyboard with lyric written on it. She knew right away it must be a song that he had written. She barely scanned over it before slowly walking over toward Topaz and handing it to him. "Here sing it..." She suggested and she took a set on the bed next to him. She wanted to hear the song, she hadn't really read it to see what it was about but she knew if it was a song he wrote it had to be a good song. Even if he hated singing because he didn't really have "the voice", Luna didn't care, it was the effort that counted. Besides she never really thought that his singing voice was horrible, he just always said that and she only shrugged her shoulders. She knew those who were worst than him, it wasn't like he had the worst voice in the world, she loved his voice when he talked, so smooth and gentle, his singing voice wasn't that far from it. She laid back on his bed watching him waiting to see if he would sing it or not.

They had eventually made it back to his bedroom. He had walked slower than usual to keep up with Luna. He also walked beside her so if she was going to faint again he could catch her in time before she hurt herself. Thankfully she didnt and they made it to his room. Without being stopped or anything. Topaz was the master at sneaking off campus and sneaking girls back into his room. He did it practically all the time after all. He was bsuy tidying up some stuff that was on his bed such as his guitar and songs. The rest was fine. Sorting his songs out in the folder he realised he was missing one but he soon found it by the keyboard over on the table. He left that out because he was still working on it. Well it was done but something about it was still bugging him a little.

Luna eventually had spotted it and Topaz looked at her when she asked him to sing it for her. He rose his eyebrows at her at that requset. He would gladly if he had a better voice, "You sure? Listening to my howling might make you feel worse?"[/color He teased. He knew he couldnt sing and he always joked about it. He knew he wasnt that bad, however it would take him a lifetime to get as good as Luna and Lixu. Sighing he took the song from her and the agreed to it, "Just this once..." Topaz said with a smile and got up and moved back to the keyboard. He couldnt sing without the music behind it. It would give something else for Luna to listen to than this imitation of a cat being strangeld, commonly known as his singing. Pulling the chair up behind him for him to sit on while he played. Placing the music on the stand in front of him.

Hovering his fingers above the keys for a few minutes before he began to play a little introduction that was eerily beautiful. It sounded better on a piano. However he couldnt borrow a piano from the music room. After the small introduction, his good but not so good voice began to sing the song.

Topaz said and then bringing it off to an end and then smiled. At Luna he was quiet for a few moments, "Something is still bugging me about it. So I dont want to play you it all until its finished properly." Topaz said switching it off and then moved to sit opposite Luna on his bed, "I wrote it after that day in the rain. Few days afterwards. Been working on it since." He admitted. He would of told her but it wasnt finished properly. It was good at this stage but something was still bugging him about it. He wasnt quite sure what it was.

Luna never cared that Topaz wasn't the best singer in the world because she wasn't expecting him to be the best and she wasn't expecting him to be the worst either because he wasn't. He was in between, average, and there was definitely nothing wrong with an average singing voice because it was something that was bearable and able to be listened to compare to those who were completely wretched. Topaz wasn't horrible, she had listened to him many times before and every time she was left with a smile on her face and blush across her cheeks, it was never her squealing or covering her ears wishing that he would stop the noise, no it was always her wishing that he would sing again. Luna smiled when he finally took the paper from her finger tips and slowly stood up and walked over to the keyboard. She clasped her hands together and laid back on the bed staring at him with her dazzling yellow eyes sparkling with her being anxious to hear the song.

When he finally begun place the opening tune without words she smiled and listened to the soft melody as it came to life from his fingertips through the keyboard. She stared at him and his silly red hair and she smiled again before slowly closing her eyes and listening as the words from the song that he had written begun to flow freely from his voice in a soft tone, it was a bit off of course he was no expert, but he gave enough effort to please Luna. When he sung she found herself getting lost into the song, it was easy enough, she knew right away the song was written for her without him even having to say a word. She slowly opened her eyes when he finished and she stared up at the ceiling her eyes slowly feeling wet with tears, again it wasn't sad tears, but she didn't let them fall, she closed her eyes once more to push them away before opening them to look at his face as he sat near her on the bed now. "You wrote it after the rain....the same thing that made me sick!" Luna joked and she laughed lightly as she pulled him down to lay next to her.

"Remember when we used to lay like this all the time, it was nice eh?" She giggled again and closed her eyes leaning her head against his once he was next to her. She softly started humming the tune to the song that he just sung to her, already she had it memorized. She continued humming until she slowly found herself feeling tired again and she yawned before shifting onto her side and lying closer near him. She smiled placing a soft peck on his cheek. She found it was innocent enough for her to do.

Topaz had sat and played the song for Luna. He hoped she knew the hidden meaning inside the lyrics. He didnt like his voice, it could be a better one. But hey Luna and Lixu had that gift. He had the gift of creating the music. He had always encouraged Luna to write her own. She was good at it as well. He always gave her constructive critisism. What he thought might of been better. However he had sometimes read through a song that she had wrote and found it great. Nothing to say at all but compliments about it.

Topaz stopped half way through the song. He didnt want to continue. It might of sounded ok to her, but to him it just wasnt right yet. It was still annoying him what was bugging him about the song but he didnt know what. When he was finished he turned off the keyboard however left the music sheets where they were and went and sat next to her on his bed again. Sitting down gently as he said he wrote it a few days after the day in the rain. The day where his eyes had opened a little. He knew then that he still loved her it was why he had wrote it in the first place. He laughed getting her little joke, "It left me sick as well you know. But not majorly." Topaz said back. Most he had was a cold and a blocked nose. Still awful but he got over it. Like everything else he lived with it. As she pulled him to lie down next to her he did so. Shifting a little he lay next to her. At how close they were Topaz thought it would be harmless if he put his arm around her. They lay like that just for a few minutes. Neither of them saying or doing anything. Just them, "I remember..." He said smiling at the many memories of these times. They were just so peaceful. Just them and nothing else, each others company was enough, "It is nice..." Topaz said since they were actually doing the same thing already. Difference was that they werent together right now. Topaz really wanted to get back together with her now. He still had girls to break it off with first. He wasnt the kind of guy to dump you by text or email. With a few he would, ones that he only seen about once because he just didnt like them at all. Others he would speak to face to face. He had to make it right with his best friend as well. He would then consider getting back together with her. He couldnt see anything that would keep him from asking. Just building up the courage to do so. Lost in thoughts he barely felt the peck on the cheek but he did. Smiling down at her he pulled her a little closer with his arm that was already around her and kissed her forehead gently, resting his head on top of hers.

Luna smiled before closing her eyes and yawning, she was a bit tired but it was only because she was sick and she always felt extra tired when sick not to add the medicine she was taken for her cold made her drowsy. She remained close to Topaz, rubbing her cheek against his shoulder. They hadn't laid by each other like this since back when they were still dating and everything was fine. It was before the night at the party, before everything came crashing down. Luna didn't want to think about the past anymore, even with that said it was what led them to being like this again. She wouldn't trade in a moment like this with anything in the world. Even though they weren't together anymore she still liked being near him, her feelings for him being kept bottled up inside of her, she wanted more than anything just to let it all spill out.

She had been a bit curious in his reactions from her kissing his cheek but he did nothing more then pull her closer to him and lay a light kiss on her forehead before resting his head against hers. She sighed lightly and kept her eyes closed mumbling something under her breath "So warm..." She snuggled close to him and slowly started to drift in and out of sleep. She wasn't sure if she heard him talking or if she was just imagining, either way she was far too drowsy and sleepy to even understand what might be being said. She hoped that she wasn't snoring, she had a cold so it was a bit inevitable, it would be the most embarrassing thing if she did. She also hoped that she wasn't talking in her sleep because that too is embarrassing and she might say something that she wouldn't want him to hear. She wouldn't be able to control it either way, she was slowly falling asleep and once she was asleep and whatever happened while she was asleep was out of her control, she would just have to face the embarrasment when she woke up.

Topaz merely held her after he had finished the song. He lay beside her, his arm around her holding her close to him. Of course he remembered the days they used to just lie like this. Peaceful. No need for any words just them. Any other girl lying on his bed usually would of excited him, but strangely with Luna around he didnt feel that way.

However he could tell she was tired. Long day, stressful and tiring as well. Plus her being sick just didnt help anything. When she mumbled it was so warm, Topaz knew she would be asleep soon. He just waited with a gentle kiss on her forehead in return to her kissing him on the cheek. Holding her closer even more he waited in silence. Eventually she had fell asleep.

Gently he slipped out of her arms and then got a spare blanket from his wardrobe and draped it over her. She was obviously in need of sleep if she was sleeping during the day. That and the blazing sunshine hurt her skin. It was blazing sunshine out there today as well. So that also hadnt of helped her with anything. Quietly with her still asleep he left the room to get some food. He went to the shop just around the corner from the school to get a few things to eat. Stuff that didnt require cooking either, as he couldnt cook to save his life.

He was only gone a few minutes before returning with a few bags. Sure enough Luna was still asleep. Smiling he put the two ready meals he got on the far desk and the drinks in his mini fridge, however keeping one for himself. Standing up he walked to the curtains and closed them and switched on a small light in the corner and sat on the far chair and continued with his song until she woke, "What is wrong with you..." Topaz murmmered to it. Hoping it would just pop out at him on the page.
